This antique dram scale comes from England and was made around the 1920s from Hunt & Co Scales LTD., London manufactured – a renowned manufacturer of precise measuring instruments.
The unity Dram was both in Troy weight system (including for the determination of precious metals) as well as in Pharmacist weight used. In the Troy system, one dram is approx. 3.888 grams, while in pharmacy it played an important role in medical dosages.
The integrated ones Spirit levels in the base show how seriously precision was taken: the scale only delivers exact results when aligned correctly. The faceted mirror underlines the high level of craftsmanship and makes it easier to read precisely.
