Vintage Argus C3 "The Brick" 35mm Rangefinder Camera with Leather Case & Metrophot Light Meter (Untested / As-Is for Parts or Repair)
Up for purchase is a classic piece of American photographic history: the iconic Argus C3 35mm rangefinder camera, affectionately known as "The Brick". Produced from the late 1930s into the 1960s, this rugged, distinctively styled camera is a favorite among vintage collectors and analog enthusiasts alike.
This particular camera is being sold untested and completely as-is for parts, repair, or display.
What’s Included:
- Argus C3 35mm Camera: Physically in good cosmetic condition. The body shows normal signs of age and wear, but has no major cracks or severe damage (to the eye). The leatherette covering is mostly intact, and the dials turn.
- Original Leather Carrying Case: Shows notable vintage wear and scuffs, but the stitching holds together well and it still successfully houses and protects the camera. Strap is detached.
- Vintage Metrophot/Metawatt Shoe-Mount Light Exposure Meter: A wonderful period-correct accessory that mounts directly to the top shoe of the camera. Untested as well - as is
Condition Notes:
- Cosmetic: Good vintage condition. Please see the high-resolution photos for the exact cosmetic state of the camera, lens, meter, and leather case.
- Mechanical / Functional: This setup is completely untested with film. Because I cannot guarantee that the shutter speeds are accurate, the rangefinder is aligned, or the light meter is responsive, it is being strictly sold as-is for parts, restoration, or as a fantastic shelf display piece.
