Beautiful antique wooden printer’s type case with wonderful age, character, and a warm naturally developed patina.

Originally made for a working print shop, this old letterpress tray features numerous compartments of varying sizes that once held individual pieces of movable type. The original dark metal handle remains in place, adding to its authentic industrial character.

Measures approximately 22.5” x 18”.

The wood has a rich, warm aged finish with the subtle marks, variations, and surface wear expected from a genuine vintage working piece. The compartments present very nicely and the tray has a wonderful overall appearance. No maker’s mark or manufacturer’s stamp was found.

Today, these old printer’s cases make beautiful decorative pieces and can be repurposed as a shadow box, miniature or collectible display, wall organizer, jewelry display, or rustic farmhouse and industrial décor.
