A wonderfully aged antique wooden eight-drawer workshop cabinet, full of genuine character and with exactly the sort of untouched patina collectors look for.

This would most likely have been used as a small workshop, watchmaker’s, jeweller’s, engineer’s or tradesman’s parts cabinet, with eight individual drawers designed for storing small tools, fittings, components or materials.

The cabinet has a lovely dark original finish with extensive surface wear, scratches, knocks and areas where decades of use have worn through around the drawer pulls. Several different small metal knobs / fixings remain fitted, adding to its completely un-restored, utilitarian appearance.

The drawer construction is simple and workmanlike, and the interior timber shows plenty of age and use. This is not a polished reproduction piece — it is a genuinely old working cabinet that has clearly had a long life.

Condition is heavily aged and worn, which is a major part of the appeal. There are scratches, scuffs, paint/finish losses, worn areas around the handles, knocks and general signs of long-term use. Some drawer pulls appear to have been replaced or altered over the years. There is also some age-related splitting / damage to the rear and lower edges, all visible in the photographs.
