Replace worn‑out, cracked fuel pump diaphragms and leaking top o‑rings to fix fuel pressure loss, rough idle, hard start, fuel leak and engine misfire issues. Installation Steps

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure, disconnect battery negative terminal for safety.
  2. Remove high pressure fuel pump assembly from engine valley.
  3. Carefully disassemble HPFP housing, take out old worn diaphragms and aged o‑rings.
  4. Clean pump housing sealing surface completely, remove old debris and residual fuel.
  5. Install new diaphragms correctly, make sure no twist or fold on diaphragm surface.
  6. Fit brand new top o‑rings, lightly lubricate o‑ring with approved fuel‑safe lube.
  7. Re‑assemble fuel pump with proper torque value (do not over‑tighten).
  8. Reinstall pump to vehicle, reconnect fuel lines and battery.
  9. Turn ignition on several times to build fuel pressure, check for fuel leaks before road test.

Common Installation Problems & Troubleshooting FAQ

Q1: Fuel leak after rebuild?
A: Check o‑ring seating. Make sure o‑ring is not nicked, pinched or twisted. Confirm housing sealing surface is clean with no scratch. Do not over‑torque the pump cover.

Q2: Still hard start / low fuel pressure after replacement?
A: Double‑check diaphragm orientation; diaphragm cannot be reversed or creased. Verify pump internal plunger is not worn. Clear DTC error codes after installation, perform fuel pressure test.

Q3: Engine rough idle, misfire codes return right after install?
A: Air trapped inside fuel system. Cycle ignition key 4‑6 times to prime fuel system. Check fuel line connections for air intake. Scan for other related engine fault codes.

Q4: Diaphragm damaged right after installation?
A: Do not use sharp tools during assembly. Keep housing surface free of metal burrs. Use only fuel‑compatible lubricant for o‑ring setup.

Q5: Does this kit replace entire HPFP?
A: This is rebuild repair kit for existing pump. If your pump plunger / cam follower is heavily worn, full HPFP replacement will be required.
