Linda Ronstadt SIGNED Mariachi LP Cocula Jalisco Raices Costumbres 1989 NM

Item Description:

Up for sale is an extraordinary, museum-grade piece of music memorabilia from the personal collection of music legend Linda Ronstadt.

This 12-inch LP, titled "Cocula, Jalisco: Raíces y Costumbres de la Tierra del Mariachi," was presented directly to Linda Ronstadt on April 23, 1989—right during the height of her historic, Grammy-winning "Canciones de Mi Padre" era.

The front of the album features a beautiful, sweeping fountain-pen inscription handwritten by traditional musicians from the historic heart of the genre, spearheaded by Gerardo Rodríguez Chávez. It reads:

"Con afecto desde el pueblo de Cocula, Jalisco, la cuna del mariachi, para Linda Ronstadt. 23 Abril 1989."

(With affection from the town of Cocula, Jalisco, the cradle of the mariachi, for Linda Ronstadt. April 23, 1989.) Inscribed to her when she was in Mexico visiting various Mariachi greats in preparation for her hit album Canciones de Mi Padre which went on to be the best selling non English album of all time in the United States.

An unbelievable artifact bridging an American vocal icon with her deep Mexican cultural heritage. A crowning addition for serious archives or high-end celebrity autograph collectors.
