Over the period 1946 to 1955, three different hinges were used. The early 1946 lighters had a three barrel hinge, where the middle barrel was longer than the two outer barrels, From late 1946 to 1949, the three barrels were approximately equal in length and from 1949 onwards a five barrel hinge was used.
 
**To install this tool on your zippo lighter you must have a spot welder or a very strong adhesive material which is not recommended. Only professionals can install this part to prevent damage or injury.
If you need help installing this part we have 24hours customer service ready to help you.
We didn't try installing this part on modern Zippo lighters so we don't know if it really fits.
