Product Description: This bookshelf speaker system was developed for use in studios, control rooms, and as a portable playback monitor.
It features a 30cm Alnico woofer 2212 for the low frequencies and a 13cm Alnico squawker LE5-2 for the mid frequencies. It
also features a 3.6cm direct radiator LE25 for the high frequencies.
As the title suggests, this is a masterpiece that has been meticulously maintained and tuned, starting with cleaning each unit, disassembling the attenuator, repairing the network solder joints, and even down to every single screw.
1. All speaker units were removed from the enclosure and carefully checked and maintained one by one.
2. Upon inspecting the capacitor capacity of the network, 30% to 40% leakage was found due to age, so the tweeter and squawker sections were replaced with composite capacitors.
・Replacing capacitors is the most important point in tuning.
I often see listings for 4311 and 4312 series speakers with film capacitors like DAYTON, and while the high-frequency extension is certainly good, the sound becomes thin and lacks depth, far removed from the JBL sound quality, so I'm not impressed.
There's a myth about film capacitors on the internet, but even renowned professional speaker designers are skeptical; they simply can't match the three-dimensional sound quality of electrolytic capacitors.
Renowned speaker designers from any manufacturer basically use electrolytic capacitors.
The type of capacitor to use and in what proportion is a crucial point where tuning expertise is put to the test.
3. The attenuator has been carefully disassembled and cleaned, so you can use it with peace of mind for a long time.
4. Almost all the wiring has been replaced with the excellent MOGAMI 3103.
5. All contacts, including the midrange and tweeter, have been carefully polished.
6. Both the speaker grille and speaker net are brand new. There's no need to worry about breakage anymore. You can use it with peace of mind.
