This is a non-commercial "Wii TV Remote" that was distributed as a special bonus for Club Nintendo Platinum members in 2005, prior to the release of the Wii console in 2006. While it faithfully reproduces the shape, size, and even the feel of the buttons of a real Wii Remote, it functions as a practical TV remote for controlling your home television. Please note that it cannot be used as a game controller for the Wii console.
