A magnificent piece of German mechanical engineering — the Triumph Perfekt, manufactured by Triumph Werke Nürnberg A.G. around 1950.

The Perfekt was the top model in Triumph’s family of portable typewriters, positioned above the simpler Durabel and Norm models. One of its distinguishing features was the settable tabulator, giving this compact portable functionality normally associated with larger office machines.

This particular example belongs to the beautiful early post-war generation and immediately stands out for its rare deep green original finish. Combined with the textured metal body, black keys, chrome details, blue enamel Triumph and Perfekt badges, and gold Triumph Werke Nürnberg lettering, it is a striking example of classic German industrial design.

The Triumph Perfekt comes from an era when portable typewriters were engineered as serious mechanical instruments. Its robust all-metal construction gives the machine an exceptional feeling of solidity and stability, while the precise German mechanism delivers a wonderfully direct and controlled typing experience.

Even the original carrying case is made of metal, providing excellent protection during transport and storage. The original vintage metal ribbon spools have also been preserved, adding another wonderful detail of authenticity and collector appeal.

Despite its historical and collectible character, this is first and foremost a serious writing machine. The keyboard feels precise and reassuring, the substantial chassis remains stable while typing, and the machine offers both black and red typing, as demonstrated in the actual typing sample shown in the photos.
