Offered here is a wonderfully unique 1978-79 Boston Celtics multi-signed piece of original childhood artwork, measuring approximately 22 x 14 inches and featuring a total of 12 vintage autographs.

Unlike a commercially produced photograph, poster or team-issued item, this piece was personally hand drawn by our consignor when he was a young child. He then brought his drawing with him and personally obtained the Boston Celtics signatures appearing across the artwork.

Nine of the twelve autographs have been positively identified as K.C. Jones, Frankie Sanders, Curtis Rowe, Kevin Stacom, Chris Ford, Jeff Judkins, Don Chaney, Bob McAdoo and Rick Robey. Three additional vintage signatures remain unidentified.

The combination of original child-created artwork, period Boston Celtics autographs and direct in-person provenance gives this piece a tremendous amount of character and makes it unlike virtually any conventional team-signed Celtics collectible.

The signatures represented on this artwork trace directly to the 1978-79 Boston Celtics era, a fascinating transitional period in the history of one of professional basketball's most celebrated franchises.

Among the most recognizable names appearing on the piece is K.C. Jones, one of the great figures in Celtics history. Jones had already won eight NBA championships as a Boston player and would later return to tremendous success as the team's head coach.

Also represented is future Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo, one of the premier scorers of his generation, along with longtime NBA veteran Don Chaney and Celtics players Chris Ford, Rick Robey, Kevin Stacom, Curtis Rowe and Jeff Judkins.

Together, the signatures create a tangible snapshot of Boston basketball during the closing years of the 1970s, immediately before the arrival of the next great Celtics championship era.

According to our consignor, he created this basketball artwork himself as a young child. The large central basketball design, surrounding lines and handwritten decorative elements are all part of his original drawing.

Rather than simply keeping the artwork at home, he used it as an autograph piece and personally obtained the Celtics signatures in person. The autographs were therefore not assembled by a memorabilia dealer or added decades later to a commercial product.

It is difficult to imagine another example exactly like it. This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of fan-created Boston Celtics memorabilia that combines a child's enthusiasm for basketball with genuine interaction with professional players of the era.
