Vetcraft Toronto, Canada, Arts & Crafts hammered copper bowl, created between 1919-1925.

This charmingly crafted bowl has beautifully warm patina on all visible surfaces which makes it positively glow under direct light. The underside has been recently polished as part of removing the mark of a sticky label.

Vetcraft was started in Canada after World War I to give returning veterans employment creating beautiful hand crafted objects inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, in similar manner to other socially motivated arts production centres like Newlyn and KISA.

The bowl is about 12.7 cm diameter and about 7.8 cm high. It weights about 390 grams.

This item is from the collection of the original author of the oldcopper.org website, including Maker's marks.
