This is a Japanese woodblock print of “Moonlit Night at Enoshima” by Kawase Hasui (1883–1957), one of the leading artists of the Shin Hanga movement.
The original design was created in 1933 (Showa 8).
The print offered here is a later printing. The date of this later printing is unknown.
The composition depicts a moonlit view of Enoshima, with large pine trees dominating the foreground and the sea extending beyond them. The full moon appears between the pine branches, while its light is reflected across the water.
The deep blue night sky, dark pine trees, moonlight, and waves create a striking nighttime seascape.

A beautiful nighttime seascape by Kawase Hasui depicting Enoshima under a full moon.
Large pine trees fill much of the foreground, with their branches extending across the night sky. The full moon is visible between the branches, and moonlight is reflected on the surface of the sea below.
The waves, deep blue tones, and dramatic silhouettes of the pine trees create a distinctive and atmospheric composition.
The title and the inscription “Showa 8, August” are visible in the left margin. Publisher-related seals are also visible in the left margin.
