Original antique London & North Western Railway cast iron notice sign believed to date from the Victorian era, likely the 1880s.

This is an extremely heavy and impressive original piece of British railway history with deeply cast raised lettering and fantastic authentic industrial character throughout.

Condition:
Original unrestored antique condition with heavy surface rust, oxidation, pitting, weathering, and age-related wear consistent with long-term outdoor use and age. The rear shows substantial corrosion and historic wear, while much of the raised front lettering remains visible. Please see photos carefully as they form part of the description.

The London & North Western Railway (LNWR) was one of the largest and most important railway companies of the Victorian period, operating major railway routes from London Euston across England and Wales. Original railway signs from this era are now highly sought after within railwayana, industrial décor, and transport history collections.

The wording on the sign appears to read:
