Native American potter Tammy Tarbell, 1950-2021.Mohawk tribe. She used the clay bodies and finishes of the Iroquois. This tribe assimilated quickly and most of the pottery was gone. Member of the 6 Nations (Haudenosaunee). Piece is 2 1/4" high, 1 1/2" base diameter. 1 3/4" mouth diameter. Bottom of pot has a glossy finish. Top is deeply incised, matte finished with a pale plum color. Signed and dated by the artist.
