M.A. Kleckner is best known for his historic stereographs and albumen prints documenting towns and landscapes in Pennsylvania, including Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe) and Bethlehem.
Some of the earliest photographic images of Bethlehem were taken by M. A. Kleckner who documented his home town in the mid-1860s. Kleckner went on to be a prolific photographer, working in Mauch Chunk, PA (present-day Jim Thorpe) and later in Kansas, where he died in 1930.
