The teapot has been skilfully carved by hand from beautifully varied green and grey Cabbage Jade, with the natural colouring and inclusions of the stone creating a wonderful organic appearance throughout.

The rounded body is decorated with relief-carved foliage and naturalistic motifs, while the fitted lid is particularly striking, surmounted by a beautifully carved bird finial resting amongst carved leaf and floral forms.

The combination of the natural stone, extensive hand carving and unusual sculptural design makes this a very attractive piece for collectors of Chinese jade, hardstone carving and Asian decorative arts.
