Vintage Sheaffer Targa 1030 Thuya Laque Rollerball Pen Pencil Set Box
Beautiful vintage Sheaffer Targa Thuya Laque writing set featuring a matching rollerball pen and mechanical pencil in Sheaffer's distinctive dark brown marbled lacquer finish with gold-tone trim.
The original presentation case retains its identifying factory label reading “TARGA by SHEAFFER – THUYA LAQUE – ROLLING BALL – 1030-1.” The rollerball is also marked “SHEAFFER U.S.A.” and features Sheaffer's recognizable White Dot above the clip.
The Thuya finish gives the instruments a rich burl-like appearance with brown, black and warm amber coloration that changes subtly with the light. This was one of the more decorative finishes offered in Sheaffer's collectible Targa line.
The mechanical pencil operates properly and currently contains a small amount of lead.
The rollerball pen currently does not write and requires a replacement ink refill/cartridge. The pen itself appears complete.
Included is the original burgundy Sheaffer presentation case with gold detailing, fitted interior, Sheaffer Roller Ball Pen Lifetime Guarantee plaque, and original Sheaffer use-and-care literature.
An attractive surviving vintage Sheaffer set with the added benefit of its original presentation packaging and identifying model label.

Condition
Vintage pre-owned condition.
Both writing instruments show light age-appropriate cosmetic wear. The Thuya Laque finish remains attractive with good coloration and gloss, and the gold-tone trim presents well.
Mechanical pencil mechanism works properly and some lead remains inside.
Rollerball pen requires a new ink refill and is therefore not currently writing.
Original presentation case shows age and storage wear. The interior has visible spotting/staining and other age-related discoloration. Original paperwork is included.

Shipping
