Lewis Carrol, invented "The Wonderland Postage-Stamp Case," a little case with 12 separate pockets in which people could keep stamps of different denominations. The stamp case was sold with a little booklet called "Eight or Nine Wise Words about Letter Writing." Published in 1890.
