This is an original, 1950s–1960s Showa-era vintage Japanese tinplate racing boat named EMERALD Y-3, produced in Japan by the classic toy maker Yoneya (marked with the iconic Sakura Cherry Blossom 'Y' logo).
The hull is adorned with vibrant vintage lithographed tin art in bold primary colors, complete with an attached tin driver wearing a classic racing helmet and goggles.
The built-in L-shaped winding key positioned in front of the cockpit can be turned to manually actuate the rear red propeller. While displaying natural vintage resistance due to age, the internal mechanical link remains functional.
Mid-century Japanese tin boats (Tinplate Toys) from the golden era of Japanese toy exports are celebrated globally for their craftsmanship and rustic charm. A wonderful centerpiece for any antique toy display or nautical tin collection.
