This vintage doll, from the mid-20th century, is in rough condition but she's just so charming. The condition description above says it all. She needs some repair. Her glass eyes are beautiful, and even though her face is rough, her faint smile is very endearing. I believe her kimono is original and it's full of holes, especially on the back. Her head and lower limbs are made of Gofun, a traditional white pigment made from oysters. There are scrapes in the surface on her cheek and above her eye. Her right leg is broken off at the knee, and the foot has been broken and repaired. Her hair is mostly intact but is starting to fall out in spots. She has calligraphy on the front and back of her paper body and she has a squeaker that I guess was supposed to sound like crying - see video.
