A beautiful vintage Moroccan Safi pottery bowl/plate, hand thrown and hand painted with a striking traditional geometric and floral design.
Decorated in rich cobalt blue, turquoise/green, cream and yellow, with a central stylised floral motif surrounded by geometric borders. The handmade nature of the piece gives the decoration and form plenty of individual character.
The piece has a hand-painted signature/mark to the underside, although the individual maker has not been identified.
A substantial and quite heavy piece of pottery, weighing approximately 573g.

Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear and glaze crazing. There is a small area of glaze/colour loss to the outer rim, possibly with a very minor surface nick, as shown in the photographs. Three firing/stilt contact marks are visible on the decorated front and appear to be from the original manufacturing/firing process. There are further minor surface marks, glaze variations and handmade irregularities consistent with the age and manufacture of the piece.
