Group lot of (10) ten continental-size color chrome postcards celebrating Maine lobsters and the state's lobstering industry. Most of our "modern" continental chrome group lot cards range in age from 15-25 years old. All divided back, unused. Condition: All in mint condition. Comments: The American lobster, Homarus americanus, is a species of lobster found on the Atlantic coast of North America, chiefly from Labrador to New Jersey. Within North America, it is also known as the northern lobster or Maine lobster. It commonly reaches 8-24 inches long and weighs 1-9 pounds, but has been known to weigh as much as 44 lbs, making this the heaviest crustacean in the world The Maine Lobster Festival is held each August in Rockland, Maine. | |
