Copper Arts & Crafts bowl marked B.G.H. for Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts.

Lovely lidded bowl, with character and craftsmanship that has stood the test of time.  The hammered copper has a more subtle effect on the outside than is usual in the Arts & Crafts movement, which contributes to the bowl's chameleon like ability to take on the traits - via reflection - of whatever environment it resides in. It retains a good patina which gives it a warm glow in numerous lighting conditions.

It's in great condition for it's age (see photos).  There are a few small marks on lid and the inside-bottom: these are hard to spot in general pictures, so I've included close ups (which show examples).  Also, the lid fits better in one orientation to the bowl; other fits (i.e. different respective rotations) can create gaps in places around the edge, between lid and bowl. The apparent big blotches on inside surfaces are just reflections of camera, tripod, etc.

Weight 395 grams. Diameter (max) about 14cm. Height about 10 cm.
