Up for auction is a vintage Perkins Brailler Large Cell Braille Typewriter. This is a highly specialized mechanical braille typewriter manufactured by the Howe Press of the Perkins School for the Blind. Please see below for more details.

The Specialty Design: Unlike standard Braillers, this rare variation is factory stamped "LARGE CELL" on the protective fiberboard baseplate. It features enlarged cells that are 40% larger than a classic model, with cell-to-cell spacing that is approximately 50% wider. It is engineered specifically for individuals with limited tactile sensitivity or those learning braille, who require larger, distinct dot layouts.
Body Construction: Cast aluminum housing finished in a desirable, premium textured metallic blue enamel coating
Key Assemblies: Standard 9-key tactile mechanical layout consisting of 6 braille dot keys, a centered space bar, a backspace key, and a vertical line spacer.
Mechanical controls: Polished aluminum fold-flat top carry handle, dual manual sliding metal margin stops on the rear rail, silver side paper clamp levers, and dual dark gray rubber paper feed knobs.

Idaho sales tax and local pick-up:  All items sold within the state of Idaho will include a 6% state sales tax on the invoice.  Local pick-up at our Boise, Idaho main facility is available for all items at no cost.
