We are not jewelers or gemologists. All of our jewelry is pre-owned from estates. 

We test the gems with a Presidium Gem tester. The gem tester cannot distinguish between a treated stone or and a natural untreated stone. For example, rubies and sapphires are more likely treated than natural. The gem tester also cannot distinguish between a man-made carbon diamond and one that occurs naturally and is mined from the earth. 

Here is a remarkable necklace featuring a hand carved scarab (that I think is turquoise), and an oval bezel set garnet, suspended from a 19 inch long, 4 millimeter wide, Byzantine chain. The pendant measures 65.4 millimeters tall, 32.4 millimeters wide, 22 millimeters thick, and weighs 71.9 grams total, including the chain. It also contains one faceted oval garnet (per the gem tester). You can see that a small section on the side of the scarab is missing (see photo with blue arrows). It was this way when I got it, and may have occurred when it was being carved. It is in otherwise excellent pre-owned condition. The chain is marked 925 on the side of the hook clasp, the amulet/pendant is marked 925 on the slide, as pictured (look for the blue arrow). Winning bidder will receive the actual item pictured. Please review the photos for a complete description.

We are always cleaning out houses that contain some great vintage and antique items.  Our inventory is constantly changing. We do not collect these items, and we are NOT experts. We appreciate any information you may have to assist us in identifying, or toward providing a more accurate description, but we do require some authority for the information.  We provide a lot of photos, but please ask questions if you have them.

Important Shipping information: We ship via priority mail and use priority mail boxes. We package in the highest grade materials and each piece is insured for full value, which is included in the shipping estimate. We also offer Federal Express Home Delivery. We understand that shipping costs can be expensive. We do our best to minimize the cost but if you email us before bidding or paying, we will do whatever we can to work with you.

Insurance is included in shipping cost.  
Payment is expected within 3 days of close of auction. Shipments are generally made within 2 days of receipt of payment.

International bidders: Buyer pays all duty and importation costs.  I will not lie on customs documents.  Please know your country's importation laws and restrictions.
