The beginning of an ironically-named genre, "Utopia" actually means "in no place" in Latin.  More's Utopia is a patriarchal island kingdom that practices religious tolerance and in which everyone works and shares in all goods.  Needless to say, violence and vice are nonexistent in this no-place, and all live in harmony.   Ah, utopia...
