Design & Style Details:

The Style: Masterfully executed in the Austrian Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) style, which celebrated fluid, naturalistic designs.

The Engravings: The wide, flat knife blades and fork tines feature an incredibly detailed, realistic engraved Carp (fish) weaving through water reeds—a textbook example of late 19th/early 20th-century European luxury seafood services.

The Handle Silhouette: Features a classical Fiddle Thread outline, bordered by a raised clean line that pulls into elegant, symmetry-focused scrolls at the very tip.

Monogram: The front handles feature a beautifully executed, elegant script "AF" period family monogram.

Manufacturer Hallmarks:

The reverse side of each piece is stamped with the authentic Berndorf circular hallmark: "ART. KRUPP BERNDORF" surrounding the iconic "Fat Bear" symbol. This specific die mark accurately dates the manufacturing of this set to between 1927 and 1933.

Material:

High-quality Alpacca base metal heavily electroplated with pure silver. Gives the flatware the excellent weight, balance, and brilliant luster of solid sterling silver.

Condition Report:

Overall: Excellent antique condition.

Plating: Highly vibrant with great luster. No major silver loss, peeling, or "bleeding" to the base metal on the high-contact rest points.

Wear: Shows minor, normal surface micro-scratches/tarnish consistent with age and gentle historic use. No bent tines or deep gouges. (Please review all high-resolution photos for exact cosmetic condition).
