Auction is for 129 GOLD SIGNATURE CARDS 1994 MARVEL MASTERPIECES; Missing 11 cards for a complete set (#25, 28, 43, 49, 52, 54, 82, 99, 107, 109, 139). Includes the following cards: #1-24, 26-27, 29-42, 44-48, 50-51, 53, 55-81, 83-92, 93(2), 94-98, 100-106, 108, 110-138, 140. DESCRIPTION: The 1994 Marvel Masterpieces lineup features artwork by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt, includes 140 base cards. Focusing exclusively on characters rather than events, the artwork is trademark Hildebrandt. Highly detailed and colorful, their interpretations take a more realistic approach. Card fronts use art as the focal point. Paintings are presented with a full-bleed layout. The only additions are a small nameplate and a Masterpieces logo, both in gold foil. Backs are a little busier. One side has a close-up image of the character's face. It's the same painting as the one used on the front. The other side has a very short writeup on the character as well as a quote from the Hildebrandt brothers. Every hobby pack comes with a Gold Foil Signature parallel. The only differences over the base cards are a facsimile signature of the Hildebrandt brothers and a small stamp at the top of the card noting it's a parallel…hard to build set. I list card sets as "used" since they're no longer in a sealed pack. Very slight corner blunting & spine wear; very slight blemishes; no tears, rips, creases etc. (unless otherwise noted). What you see in the scan is what you are bidding on; I very seldom use stock photos.
