A fantastic job lot of 3 vintage / antique English wooden hand planes, featuring highly collectible Sheffield edge-tool makers. Perfect for a tool restorer, traditional woodworker, or as rustic workshop/pub decor.
The lot includes:
1. Large Jack/Try Plane: Features a William Marples & Sons (Sheffield) iron bearing the iconic "Hibernia" shamrock/trefoil brand stamp.
2. Smaller Smoothing/Moulding Plane: Features an early-to-mid 19th-century I. & H. Sorby (John & Henry Sorby, Sheffield) cast steel iron with the Maltese cross emblem.
3. Smaller Wooden Plane: Stamped clearly on the front toe with the original craftsman's owner mark, "A. ELLIOTT".
Condition:
These items are sold as-is in original, unrestored condition. The wooden stocks show a wonderful authentic patina with typical age-related scuffs, scratches, and character marks. The steel plane irons have significant surface rust/pitting as pictured, but the manufacturer stamps remain legible.
Please review all photos carefully to assess the condition and maker marks.

♻️ Recycled Packaging
We do try our best to do our bit to help the environment and recycle re-use as many packaging supplies.
Due to the unfortunate increase in fraudulent activity on eBay, we do label some products with a small, inconspicuous Ultra Violet security mark, only visible using a UV light.
