Vintage Chinese Dotchin Balance Scales, (locking nut missing on case)

Traditional dotchin balance scales, used for weighing opium etc when it was legally imported. Hand carved out wooden case with graduated balance stick, metal product dish and lead weight.

Will probably benefit from a restring as the strings are tangled.

The case has some marks and wear. There is a sliding brass bar to lock the base together but the fixing nut at the top is missing.

There is a customs seal on the top of the case.
