This is a Sage ESN Euro-Nymphing Fly Reel in Black. This is an EXCELLENT condition Euro-nymphing Reel (for this style only)! Please note, this is solely for Euro-Nymphing Fly Fishing setup (not for standard fly/ indicator fishing). This reel is used, but has literally only been on the water once. Purchased it to accompany a Euro-nymphing rod that I won at a silent auction and just stuck with indicator fishing. The large arbor is designed to keep the line from spooling issues. The arbor size is also ideal for euro-nymphing for limiting the amount of reeling when bringing in a fish. No issues whatsoever with the drag, and there is virtually little/ no imperfections on the reel itself. It is a left-hand (right arm casting) retrieve. I do not have the retrieve conversion tool if you need to swap it to a right-hand retrieve, but any fly shop will do that for you. It comes with the case. This is going to be an excellent reel for euro-nymphing rods 2WT-4WT.
I will leave on the indicator line and backing with the reel. It needs more backing added. I kept it light because of the fish size in South Texas and I wanted the ability to add a WF line in case I wanted to move to dry fly fishing later in the day. I would recommend just pulling the line off and getting a new setup. It's virtually unused but you do need additional backing. I am not selling the line, just keeping it on there for no additional charge. I recommend that you purchase this if you are setting up an affordable euro-nymphing setup. I have/ will have other reels and equipment available for standard indicator fishing.
This reel needs a new home. Downsizing my equipment for my next adventure!
