Up for auction is a premium historical lot of 9 vintage Chouinard Equipment Lost Arrow pitons, originally owned and used by West Coast climbing pioneer Steve Strauch.

This lot includes a complete progressive run of sizes from 1 through 8, plus one extra duplicate of the highly utilized Size 7 (Long Thick) piton—forming a classic big-wall style rack layout. Each piece features the iconic, authentic "Diamond C" Chouinard Equipment stamp on the eyelet, confirming they are pre-1989 production from the golden era of American clean and aid climbing.

PROVENANCE:
This gear belonged to and was actively used by my father, Steve Strauch. Steve was a prominent Yosemite big wall climber and a highly respected pioneer of early route development at Smith Rock, Oregon. These pitons are a direct, authentic link to the historic 1960s and 70s eras of West Coast climbing history.
