I have not come across this before. Two totally different full-face colors on one side!! Having two completely distinct, full-face colors visible at the same time on a single polished side of labradorite is extremely rare. Check the video to see the awesome phenomenon. The other side also has a large flash covering more than half of the "face" The last few pics are of the back of this freeform. 3 x 2.5 x 1 inches
❤️ What is Labradorite? Labradorite is a member of the feldspar mineral family. The very first known references of Labradorite are found in the legends of native people from Northern America. People of the Inuit tribe called Labradorite the “firestone” or “fire rock”. They believed that Labradorite was an intermedium between the Earth and other realms. The Boethuk people in Labrador and Newfoundland had another theory. They believed that Labradorite stone contains elements of the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis. This is how they explained its mesmerizing shifts in color. Beliefs of the native people formed the basis of Labradorite's meaning later on. Labradorite was "rediscovered" by the Europeans in 1770. When Moravian missionaries first landed on the Isle of Paul in Labrador, Canada they found this magic stone. They took Labradorite back to England and France. It immediately conquered the continent with its mystical beauty. Interestingly, Labradorite was discovered later by accident in Finland. This happened around the early 1940s, during World War II. In order to keep Russian tanks away Finns were quarrying the rocks in surrounding areas. When blowing up the rocks they discovered the deposits of Labradorite stone. Back then Labradorite was also called “spectrolite”. The name “spectrolite” is still used today in some countries. People have continued to discover Labradorite deposits in Madagascar, Russia, India, Australia, the U.S., and Mexico.

❤️ All our stones are stored at our small ranch in California and are allowed to soak up the peaceful and loving environment. They are not stuffed away in boxes or crates, but outside on display until they change homes. There are many animals here, many previously neglected and abused that are drawn to the stones; no doubt the energy makes them curious, as animals, being pure souls, can pick up gentle well-meaning vibrations better than we can. In the process I am sure they lovingly leave some of their innocent essence behind for the stones to soak up.
❤️ Every stone carries the Universe inside, just look real close.
