This is a striking mid-century modernist sailboat pendant by David-Andersen of Norway, one of Scandinavia’s most celebrated silversmiths, founded in Oslo in 1876. The pendant is fully hallmarked on the reverse “David-Andersen Norway Sterling 925 S” and features a sculptural sail design in solid sterling silver, with clean architectural lines typical of David-Andersen’s signature 1960s-70s modernist output. The pendant measures approximately 2 inches in length and weighs 12.89 grams. It has a bail that will accommodate most chains or neck rings. The piece is in very good vintage condition with a lovely soft patina consistent with age; no enamel or stones, just beautifully sculpted sterling silver. A wonderful piece for collectors of Scandinavian design, mid-century modernism, or nautical jewelry
