Many people go for the solar model, but with the supplied USB-C high speed charger the watch charges in little more than an hour and is only needed every 3 weeks or so. I had the solar version, thinking I'd never need to charge it, and you get into bizarre habits in the UK like rolling up your sleeves or leaving you watch on a window-sill in the hope you can catch enough sun to charge it, but inevitably have to still top it up.
What's the point. For an hour every couple of weeks or so, you may as well just get the better watch with more features..
Plus this version has the extra features like the muscle maps and workout videos (solar doesn't) to show you and much more memory - you can even use it as a small USB drive to keep files on with you all the time with. It can also display more running metrics and data fields than the solar, it has additional data and better charts - it's why it's £100 more. It can also display images in notifications so colour pictures from tweets or telegram etc
