This wonderful vintage original animation production drawing features the Alien from one of the popular "GE Lightbulb" 1960's TV commercials which featured Mister Magoo. The image is of the alien just right of the center of the paper and is done in pencil before the GE logo appeared as a lightbulb nose. In the upper left corner you can see the "MGM ANIMATION/GRAPHICS" watermark.
Animation drawings are usually rendered in graphite and/or colored pencil on paper, drawings illustrate an animator's creative process of bringing characters to life. Many collectors prefer drawings to cels, because they are often more spontaneous and full of life, and they are more likely to be the work of a lead animator.
