JUNGLE DAYS
A BOOK OF BIG GAME HUNTING
R. St. G & NORAH BURKE
STANLEY PAUL & CO.
1935
First edition.
An officer in India's Forest Service, Burke combined his own sporting records with those of his wife, son and daughter to write this book. He and his family hunted tiger and panther from elephant back and from machans. They also stalked bear, chital, and a variety of other game, including a hunt after a rogue elephant. Most of the sporting adventures take place in the foothills of the northern United Provinces. (Czech, Bibliography of Asian Big Game Hunting Books.)
