Building was named as a memorial to the Lambert name.  He was a plantation owner, whom upon death in 1839 Virginia, freed his slaves (about 30).  The freed slaves also were given enough to buy land in Ohio, for all of them to live, called the Lambert Land Settlement.  A highway marker relating the story was installed in 2004.  Sadly, with the sadness of the times we live, someone has stolen the marker.
