A magnificent vintage Coppola e Toppo couture demi parure consisting of the original multi-strand necklace with matching clip earrings, accompanied by an Alfa Boutique / Emilio Pucci presentation box in which the set was discovered.
Among the most celebrated names in Italian couture jewelry, Coppola e Toppo creations were handcrafted in Italy and sold through prestigious fashion houses and luxury boutiques around the world. Their exuberant designs remain among the most sought-after examples of postwar Italian costume jewelry.
This exceptional demi parure features an opulent combination of luminous faux baroque pearls, sparkling clear faceted crystals, rich bronze faceted crystal beads, and beautifully textured satin-finished gilt beads, all intricately hand assembled into a luxurious multi-strand collar. The substantial matching clip earrings repeat the clustered beadwork, perfectly complementing the necklace.
The necklace measures approximately 16½ inches to the final adjustment ring, allowing it to wear beautifully as a couture collar. Both the necklace and earrings are signed Made in Italy by Coppola e Toppo.
Included is an Alfa Boutique / Emilio Pucci presentation box. The jewelry was acquired from a single estate and was found stored in this box. While it cannot be stated with certainty that the box was originally issued with the set, the association is particularly compelling.
Research indicates that Alfa Boutique was a prestigious luxury retailer in Caracas, Venezuela, during the 1960s and 1970s and served as Emilio Pucci’s exclusive representative in Venezuela, introducing Pucci’s iconic Italian fashions to the country’s fashionable clientele. The original owner of this estate was also believed to have been from Venezuela, making the provenance especially intriguing. During this period, Carolina Herrera also worked with Emilio Pucci through Alfa Boutique before establishing her own legendary fashion house.
Condition is excellent vintage. The strands remain wonderfully full with no obvious missing elements noted. The faux pearls retain beautiful luster, the crystals remain bright and sparkling, and the textured gilt beads show only light age-appropriate wear. The clip earrings retain secure tension and function properly. The presentation box shows expected age, light soiling, and storage wear consistent with decades of careful preservation.
