An elegant antique Italian 800 silver portrait brooch/pendant featuring the iconic profile image of Saint Fabiola, based on the celebrated 1885 portrait by French artist Jean-Jacques Henner. Although Henner’s original painting has long been lost, it became one of the most widely reproduced devotional images in Europe, inspiring finely crafted jewelry, miniatures, and works of art throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This beautiful example is housed beneath beveled glass in an ornate oval 800 silver frame with delicate openwork scrollwork. The reverse is clearly marked 800 and retains both its original brooch pin and pendant bail, allowing it to be worn as either a brooch or a necklace pendant.

The portrait depicts Saint Fabiola in her distinctive crimson hood, rendered in graceful profile against a dark background. Whether worn or displayed, it is an elegant example of Italian devotional jewelry and miniature portrait artistry.

Measures approximately 1¾ inches tall and weighs 9.9 grams.

Condition is very good antique estate condition. The silver retains a beautiful aged patina, the portrait displays rich color and fine detail, and the beveled glass shows only light surface wear consistent with age. The pin, clasp, and pendant bail are all present and function properly. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
