Offered for auction a fabulous antique Qing Dynasty Chinese cloisonné trinket box. The lid portrays a scene of running and grazing horses by a riverbank. This is in direct reference to the Eight Noble Steeds (or Ba Jun) a highly celebrated motif in traditional Chinese art. Historically these horses belonged to King Mu of Zhou.
