An original diary that belonged to Lester J. Haughton who was a Civil War Veteran who resided in Southington Ohio. He was in the 171st Ohio National Guard. It has writing for 1898 when he was a civilian. Most or all the pages have writing. In one area it looks like he says,........Commander of Decoration Day service the 30th......    In another area it looks like he says...........Visited Soldiers Monument and Several Stores.................

The diary has some wear and stain marks and some tears.
