This antique book is a mid-to-late Victorian edition of Brown's Self-Interpreting Family Bible, heavily structured and curated by the Rev. John Brown.

The embossed gold lettering on the central panel reads "The Holy Bible (Self Interpreting) Illustrated."

This format, with its distinct ornate leather, central recessed panel, and heavy brass borders/clasps, was primarily produced between the 1860s and 1880s.
