Released by Nintendo in 1993, Tetris 2 is the official sequel to the original Game Boy classic. Rather than following the traditional line-clearing gameplay, it introduces a fresh colour-matching puzzle mechanic similar to Dr. Mario, offering a unique twist on the beloved formula.
Developed by TOSE in collaboration with Nintendo R&D1, the game challenges players to clear the screen by matching patterned blocks. On the original Game Boy’s monochrome display, the usual colours are represented by distinctive black, white, and checkered (grey) block patterns.
