Where it’s used
This shaft/shoulder screw is used to secure tape guide components in the tape path assembly, commonly on or around the headblock area. In these locations, generic hardware is a bad substitute because the threads are not meant to be the wear surface; the shoulder is. Correct fit helps prevent slop, binding, uneven guide movement, and tape-edge damage.
