One of the biggest child stars of the 1930s, Jane is best known as the irresistible brat who harasses sweet Shirley Temple in "Bright Eyes" (1934). Unlike top star Shirley, Jane was regulated to Fox's "B" unit where she starred in her own musicals and comedy where she was usually a tomboy and a sassy smart-alecky likable kid who was extremely popular with movie audiences - in 1938 she was one of Hollywoods top box-office stars of the year.  She largely retired from Hollywood in the mid-1940s after her marriage. But she found fame again in the 1960s  as Josephine the Plumber in a long running series of commercials for Comet cleanser.
