[About the actual car]
The YZR-M1 (OWS-4) was a machine developed by Yamaha for the 2007 MotoGP World Championship.
It was developed in accordance with new regulations that came into effect in 2007, including a change in engine displacement from 990cc to 800cc.
The engine, with a displacement of 800cc, retained the same four-stroke in-line four-cylinder layout as the previous year's machines.
It is mounted on a completely machined Deltabox frame.
In the 2007 season, in addition to the two cars from the works Fiat Yamaha team, the French racing team Tech3 Yamaha team will be joined by Japan's Makoto Tamada and France's Sylvain Guintoli.
Tamada finished 18th in the annual rankings, while Guintoli placed 16th. They both showed consistent driving.
