Antique French porcelain double-handled bowl dating to the late 19th century. Measures approx. 14 cm wide.

Decorated in the chinoiserie style with colourful birds perched among flowering branches, surrounded by butterflies and insects, with a cobalt blue scrolled border. The unusual twin ribbon-shaped handles add charm to the piece.

The base bears a painted monogram mark (similar to those used by Samson of Paris and other French factories of the period). This type of ware was produced in France to emulate Chinese and Japanese export porcelains that were fashionable in the 19th century.

A decorative and collectable example of French porcelain with vibrant hand-painted detail.
