PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING -- VINTAGE ITEM DISCLOSURE
All items listed in this shop are vintage, pre-owned, or antique unless explicitly stated otherwise. By completing a purchase you acknowledge and accept every condition listed in this disclosure.
CONDITION AND AGE
All items are sold in as-is, where-is condition. Vintage items have been in existence for decades and reflect that reality. Normal signs of age, wear, patina, fading, discoloration, minor soiling, oxidation, tarnishing, loose threads, light pilling, small surface marks, hardware wear, stitching irregularities, and general aged character are inherent to vintage goods and are not considered defects or grounds for a return. These characteristics are expected and are part of what makes an item vintage. I photograph items as thoroughly and accurately as possible, but photographs cannot capture every micro-detail, especially on textured or dark materials.
ODOR AND SMELL
Vintage items may carry the natural scent of age, old storage, thrift environments, attics, basements, cedar chests, old paper, wood, fabric, leather, or general must that is characteristic of aged goods. This is inherent to items that are decades old and have been stored outside of controlled retail environments. I do not make any claims that items come from smoke-free, pet-free, or fragrance-free environments. No such claim is made or implied in any listing. Any detectable scent associated with age, prior storage conditions, or vintage character is a known and expected property of the item and is disclosed by this statement.
NO PROFESSIONAL APPRAISAL
I am not an appraiser, authenticator, conservator, or licensed expert of any kind. Unless I state explicitly in a specific listing that an item has been professionally appraised, graded, or authenticated by a named third party, all condition assessments, date estimates, attribution claims, material identifications, and descriptions are my own personal, nonprofessional opinion based on my own research and judgment. I can be wrong. Dating, maker identification, fabric content, hallmark readings, and similar assessments should be independently verified by the buyer if accuracy is critical to your purchase decision. Do not purchase based on my attribution alone if authentication matters to you.
DATING, ERA, AND PERIOD ATTRIBUTION
When I describe an item as being from a specific decade, era, or time period (for example, "1970s," "mid-century," "turn of the century," "Depression-era," or similar language), that designation represents my own best personal judgment based on visual cues, construction details, hardware, labels, fabric, stitching, silhouette, and general research. It is not a guarantee, a certified date, or a professional attribution. Vintage dating is an imprecise discipline even among experts, and items can be difficult or impossible to date with certainty without documented provenance. An item I describe as 1960s may have been produced in the late 1950s or early 1970s, or may have characteristics that overlap multiple decades. I will not knowingly misrepresent an era, but I can be wrong, and I accept no liability for era attributions that a buyer later disputes or disagrees with. If precise dating is critical to your purchase, I encourage you to research the item independently or consult a professional before buying.
MEASUREMENTS AND SIZING
All measurements I provide are my own and are taken by hand. I am human and measurement error of roughly a quarter to half an inch is possible. Vintage clothing does not follow modern sizing standards. A garment labeled a vintage size 12 bears no reliable relationship to a modern size 12. I strongly encourage you to purchase based on the flat measurements I provide rather than the labeled size. If I do not provide a specific measurement you need, message me before purchasing and I will do my best to provide it.
COLORS
Colors vary across monitors, phones, and other display devices. I make every effort to photograph items in natural or neutral light, but I cannot guarantee that what you see on your screen matches the item exactly. Minor color variation between photos and the actual item is expected and is not grounds for a return.
HARDWARE, ZIPPERS, BUTTONS, AND CLOSURES
I test zippers, snaps, clasps, and other closures to the best of my ability and describe their function in the listing. However, vintage hardware can be finicky and its behavior under your conditions and use may differ. Vintage zippers and hardware are often irreplaceable, and I do not warrant them against future failure after receipt.
ALTERATIONS AND REPAIRS
I will note any alterations, visible repairs, or modifications I am aware of. Because many vintage garments were altered by their original owners or by tailors decades ago, some alterations may not be immediately visible or detectable without close inspection. I disclose what I can identify.
NO RETURNS ON VINTAGE ITEMS -- AS IS SALE
All sales are final. I describe items as honestly and completely as I am able. If you have questions about a specific item before purchasing, message me and I will answer what I can. I do not accept returns on the basis of buyer's remorse, a change of mind, or dissatisfaction with characteristics that are covered in this disclosure and inherent to vintage goods.
All item descriptions are written in good faith based on my personal knowledge and nonprofessional research. Thank you for reading this disclosure in full before purchasing.
